‘Love thy neighbor’: ‘CIA with BA’ proves human relationships are more valuable
The biblical passage “love thy neighbor” became the takeaway of award-winning TV host Boy Abunda from a case he took on, together with sibling senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano, in the latest episode of ‘CIA with BA.’
In the ‘Case 2 Face’ segment on Sunday, September 10, a certain Berly complained against her elderly neighbor Trinidad for allegedly hurting her child not just once but a few times. Trinidad, however, strongly denied it.
While Berly had every right to formally file a case, her relationship with Trinidad – whom she has treated as her own mother – and love for the elderly ruled.
“Kung ano ang kayang pag-usapan, pag-usapan,” said Abunda as he reflected on the story.
Senator Alan, on the other hand, was reminded of 1 Timothy 1:9 in the Bible which says, “ang tao, hindi ginawa para sa batas.. ang batas ang ginawa para sa tao.”
“Kung titignan mo, nung binabasa ko [kung] ano ‘yung batas sa child abuse… pero nung nakita mo na sila (Berly and the older woman), it’s not about the law e, ‘di ba?” he explained. “It’s about ‘yung tao e, ‘yung relationship nila, kung paano kakausapin, paano ipapaliwanag.. human relations pa rin talaga.”
'CIA with BA' continues the legacy of Senator Rene Cayetano, the late father of sibling senators Alan and Pia. The senior Cayetano was a renowned lawyer who gained fame through his radio and TV program 'Compañero y Compañera,' which aired from 1997 to 2001.
Don’t miss ‘CIA with BA’ with Alan, Pia and Boy every Sunday, 11:30 p.m. on GMA7.
