Kindness begets kindness’: Alan, Pia, and Boy celebrate inspiring acts on ‘CIA with BA’ Christmas episode
In the spirit of the holiday season, the recent episode of ‘CIA with BA’ celebrated acts of kindness, heroism, and generosity from 12 remarkable individuals.
Reflecting on these touching stories, award-winning host Boy Abunda shared his heartfelt takeaway: “Kindness begets kindness.”
“Hindi ko mabitawan sa aking isipan ‘yung sinabi ng isa sa ating mga panauhin na ang pagtulong is a privilege. Hindi ho tayo kinakailangang mayaman, sagana nang sobra, para makatulong,” he said.
“Ako, alam naman ho ng mga Kapuso natin, na ako’y produkto po ng tulong ng napakaraming tao. Importante na marunong din tayong magbalik sa lahat ng grasya na ibinigay din ho sa atin. Ipagpatuloy ho natin ‘yung kultura ng kindness,” he added.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano emphasized that while the government has significant responsibilities, personal accountability is just as crucial.
“Kami ni Ate [Pia] would be the first to say na, ‘Obligasyon ng gobyerno ‘to,’ ‘Responsibility ng gobyerno ‘to,’ ‘Dapat ang gobyerno ganito…’ But really, ‘yung [mga] inaangal natin sa gobyerno, mawawala ‘yon if we all do our part,” he explained.
“Kung gagawa din tayo ng New Year’s resolution, let’s start with responsibility. When we become responsible parts of the community, self-government before umangal sa gobyerno,” Kuya Alan concluded.
Meanwhile, Senator Pia Cayetano shared her insights on promoting mental health, self-care, and wellness, especially during challenging times.
“I’m always thinking ano ba ‘yung mashe-share ko sa mga tao about self-care, mental health, wellness, and I came across this tip that one way is to not watch the news,” she said.
“Kasi ‘pag pinanood mo ang news nowadays, whether it’s international news or local, maraming segment don na tungkol sa krimen, tungkol sa patayan, tungkol sa calamities na nangyayari sa mundo—I’m not telling you [na] hindi tayo maging aware tungkol sa ganap pero ako kasi binabasa ko na lang kasi ‘yung visual image, sobrang laki ng impact sa’kin, nakaka-depress na malaman na may mga inosente tapos namatay, nabaril, nabaon…” she explained.
She emphasized the emotional toll of such imagery and the importance of finding balance: “Now we are blessed that in our own show, we are able to share happy and uplifting stories.”
Through their personal reflections, Boy Abunda and the Cayetano siblings reminded viewers of the values that define the season – kindness, accountability, and self-care. As ‘CIA with BA’ continues to highlight stories of compassion, the show inspires its audience to embrace these values and carry them forward into the New Year.
‘CIA with BA’ continues the legacy of the late Senator Rene Cayetano and airs every Sunday at 11:00 p.m. on GMA7, with replays on GTV the following Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
