CIA with BA’: Woman seeks help for spread of sex video to friends
A woman with bipolar disorder appeared on ‘CIA with BA’ to seek help regarding the spread of a sex video taken of her.
In the ‘Payong Kapatid’ segment, Elaine shared that due to her difficult circumstances, she was forced to work as a sex worker in Quezon City. On her first day, she had some clients, but the following day, there were none.
Worried about not getting customers, she sought them through social media. This was where her ordeal began, as she interacted with someone claiming to be an agent who said a Chinese client wanted a sex video in addition to sex for a higher fee.
After recording the video with her own phone, someone claiming to be connected to the agent asked for her email address to send a code. However, this was a scam, and her social media accounts, e-wallets, and the video were hacked.
The hacker then began selling her sex video, including to her friends on social media.
Senator Pia Cayetano highlighted three key points regarding Elaine’s case. First, one must be very cautious when joining social media groups. Second, even though Elaine consented to the recording, no one has the right to distribute the video under the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, which Senator Pia authored. Third, those responsible could be held accountable under the Trafficking in Persons Act.
Dr. Ernest Nora, a general psychiatrist, explained that Elaine’s decisions might be influenced by her condition.
“It’s a mood disorder na meron pong extremes. On one side would be depression — lagi siyang malungkot, hindi maganda ang pananaw niya sa buhay. But on the other side is ‘yung mania. Pagka ganito po, sobra naman ‘yung activity nila — lahat akala kaya nilang gawin… kasama po do’n would be ‘yung mga pre-occupations niya with sex. Ito po ay isang sintomas. Ang mahirap po kay Elaine ay ginamit niya bilang trabaho. But ‘yun po ay napalala pa,” he explained.
“Meron pa pong isang kondisyon si Elaine na bihirang-bihira po. Ito po ‘yung androgen insensitivity syndrome. Although babae si Elaine, meron siyang hormones na panlalaki at isa ‘yon sa nag-a-adapt ng kanyang hypersexuality — ito po ‘yung dating tinatawag nating nymphomania. Meron siyang poor impulse control with regards to that,” he continued.
According to the expert, medications will help manage the condition, but therapy will assist her in coping with lifelong treatment, which the program has pledged to support.
‘CIA with BA’ continues the legacy of the late Senator Rene Cayetano and airs every Sunday at 11:00 p.m. on GMA7, with replays on GTV the following Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
