' AKO SI NINOY ' IS ANOTHER VINCE TANADA'S MASTERPIECE! SHOWING FEBRUARY 22 IN CINEMAS

After the success of the multi-awarded musical film ' Katips ' Philstagers Films is bringing to cinemas another epic film that would showcase the heroism of Great Filipino Martyr Benigno Aquino and how his example inspired ordinary Filipinos. 

The film's title is ' Ako Si Ninoy ' a film adaptation of the stage musical commissioned by the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation in 2009. The film is written and directed by the controversial multi-awarded writer and director, Famas and Palanca Awardee Vincent Tanada with music by Famas and Awit Awardee Pipo Cifra. 

It aims to remind everyone that it is not necessary for us to die to become a hero through our ordinary means, we can be a hero to others. The movie will be shown nationwide in the first quarter of 2023.

What's unique about the film is its humble beginnings being a People's Initiative. As ' Katips ' toured the country and various cities all over the world many believed in the advocacy of combatting the proliferation of history distortion hence resulting to organic volunteerism and sharing of talents from artists, monetary donations from concerned citizens and fund raising events from various organizations.

The movie is about the inter-twinning stories of 11 individuals in the modern day Philippines- Noli an OFW, Ivy a hiusewife, Miss Nunez a teacher,Oscar a news reporter, Yosef a teen star, Andeng a labor leader, Quentin an activist, Dr. Ungria a doctor to the barrios, Ingrid an honor student, Nanding a war veteran and Osborne the child hero and how their lives paralleled to the life story of the modern-day hero Ninoy Aquino. The historical accounts were supplied by historian Xiao Chua and the Assasination accounts were supplied by the star witness, the crying lady Miss Rebecca Quijano.

This masterpiece would show to the audience how everyone of us has that fire of heroism within that all of us are capable of being a hero in our own simple ways as we fight for truth and rekindle our love for our country. This movie is not just a biographical narrative of Ninoy Aquino but the story of everyday Filipinos living their lives as modern-day heroes the Ninoy of everyman.

' Ako Si Ninoy ' includes a stellar cast of multi-awarded winning actors from stage and film. Playing the role of Ninoy is singer, song writer and actor JK Labajo, while doing the role of Cory is one of the sought after actresses of this generation Sarah Holmes. Joining the ensemble are Famas awardee for Best Supporting Actor in the movie Katips Johnrey Rivas and Aliw Awardee for Best Actress Vean Olmedo, Famas nominees Nicole Laurel and Adelle Abarrientos-Lim, Tawag Ng Tanghalan 4th Season Grand Champion JM Yosures, award winning actor and singer Marlo Mortel, Aliw Awards winner for Best Actor Jomar Bautista and veteran movie and television actor Bodjie Pascua.

The movie will also star comebacking actress Azenith Briones, Jim Paredes, Lovely Rivero, Pinky Amador, Sharmaine Suarez, Tuesday Vargas, Donita Nose, Brylle Mondejar, Brae Luke Quirante and more than a thousand movie and theater actors and actresses. 

The film will be shown in cinemas this coming February 22, 2023!
